The Chauffeurs to Drive it Home for Local Animal Charity

The Chauffeurs band has been rockin’ audiences locally and nationally, playing a mix of 50s, 60s, 70s rock-n-roll and country cross over tunes since 2002. They might be singing “You Aint’ Nothin’ but a Hound Dog,” but actions speak louder than Elvis. On Saturday, March 25th, the band whose members have played with the likes of Chubby Checker, Bobby Dee, and Little Richard will be donating their talents to entertain guests at “Furry Tails Can Come True Animal Rescue and Benefit,” benefiting Friends for Life Animal Sanctuary.

Furry Tails Can Come True, sponsored by Gearhead Garage and Caring Hearts Animal Clinic, is an enchanted evening at the Arizona Golf Resort in Mesa. The event features a hosted cocktail hour with silent auction, followed by a dazzling meal prepared by the Resort’s culinary staff, and concluding with the excitement of a live auction. Seats for the Furry Tails Can Come True Auction and Benefit may be reserved for just $58 per seat before March 10th, or $68 per seat thereafter.

Furry Tails is the largest single day fundraiser annually for Friends for Life. Dedicated volunteers begin working on the event ten months in advance. According to Barb Savoy, Furry Tails Committee Chairperson, with assistance from members of the community, such as 3TV’s Amanda Jahn who will lend her talent as the evening’s emcee, and the members of the Chauffeurs, the Furry Tails Can Come True Committee is driven to raising $25,000.00 this year, which will be it’s most successful to date.

Friends for Life is a volunteer based organization, with only one part time paid administrator, however $15,000.00 is required monthly, just to provide the basics of food, shelter, and medical care for the animals who reside with Friends for Life. The group’s mission is to rescue stray animals, who often arrive at the shelter in need of medical care due to the conditions they had been living in.
