FURRY TAILS CAN COME TRUE!

Our Fairy Dog-Mothers may not have a magic wand, but Furry Tails Can Come True!

Furry Tails Can Come True, benefiting Friends for Life Animal Sanctuary, and sponsored by Gearhead Garage and Caring Hearts Animal Clinic, is an enchanted evening at the Arizona Golf Resort in Mesa. The event features a hosted cocktail hour with silent auction, followed by a dazzling meal prepared by the Resort’s culinary staff, and concluding with the excitement of a live auction. The magic will take place on Saturday, March 25th. 2006 and will feature musical entertainment by Emily Cluff, former musical guest on Regis & Kelly, and first runner up to the Arizona Idol.

Barb Savoy, Furry Tails Auction Committee Chairperson, says that “Furry Tails is vital to the operation of Friends for Life.”

Friends for Life is a volunteer based organization, with only one part time paid administrator, however $15,000.00 is required monthly, just to provide the basics of food, shelter, and medical care for the animals who reside with Friends for Life. The group’s mission is to rescue stray animals, who often arrive at the shelter in need of medical care due to the conditions they had been living in.

Friends for Life administrator Erica Wellman said “with all of the growth and construction in the Valley, Friends for Life experienced a rise in calls from construction sites in 2005. Crews were calling to inform us that people had left animals behind in homes that were scheduled to be demolished, or that they were getting ready to clear an area for construction and found animals huddled in drain pipes as make-shift shelters. Rescuing and rehabilitating these wonderful animals is our mission, but we are limited to rescuing only those that we have the funding and space to assist.”

Furry Tails is the largest fundraiser annually for Friends for Life. Dedicated volunteers typically begin working on the event ten months in advance. According to Savoy, the Furry Tails Can Come True Committee has a goal of raising $25,000.00 this year, which will be it’s most successful to date.

Seats for the Furry Tails Can Come True Auction and Benefit may be reserved for just $58 per seat before March 10th, or $68 per seat thereafter.

Friends for Life is a registered, non-profit, 501(c)3, volunteer based, no-kill animal organization. For additional information about Friends for Life, Furry Tails Can Come True, reserving seats, donating an item, or becoming an event sponsor, please visit: www.azfriends.org or call (480) 497-8296.
